By VETTAPHARMA reporter – Veera Rodriques: Novartis has broken ground on a new radioligand therapy manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas, marking continued progress in its broader US manufacturing and R&D expansion initiative.
The Denton site is part of Novartis’ previously announced $23 billion investment plan over five years and supports the company’s strategy to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities for advanced therapies, including radioligand treatments used in precision oncology.
With construction now underway across all newly announced US facilities, the company is advancing a nationwide infrastructure expansion designed to support end-to-end production, research, and supply chain resilience for innovative medicines.
The Texas facility will focus on manufacturing radioligand therapies, a rapidly growing area in oncology that combines targeted molecules with radioactive isotopes to deliver precision treatment directly to cancer cells while limiting exposure to healthy tissues.
The expansion aligns with Novartis’ strategy of building integrated manufacturing capabilities close to patients and healthcare systems, particularly in high-growth areas such as radioligand therapy, oncology, RNA therapeutics, and biologics.
For patients, the additional radioligand manufacturing capacity is expected to support improved availability and faster delivery of precision cancer therapies, which often require complex and time-sensitive production processes due to radioactive isotope handling and short shelf life.
From a commercial perspective, continued investment in radioligand infrastructure positions Novartis to support future growth in precision oncology, particularly as demand increases for targeted radiopharmaceutical treatments and additional pipeline assets progress toward commercialization.
