Novartis to Showcase Rhapsido Data at EAACI 2026

Novartis

By VETTAPHARMA reporter – Derek Roche: Novartis announced that it will present data from 10 abstracts at the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Congress 2026, highlighting the investigational Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor Rhapsido® (remibrutinib) across chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), chronic inducible urticaria (CIndU), food allergy, and other immune-mediated conditions.

The presentations, scheduled between June 12 and June 15, 2026, will include two late-breaking oral sessions featuring data from the Phase III RemIND study in chronic inducible urticaria and the Phase IIIb REMIXED extension study in chronic spontaneous urticaria.

According to Novartis, the RemIND study is the largest clinical trial conducted in chronic inducible urticaria. The late-breaking presentation is expected to highlight efficacy and safety findings from the Phase III trial, while the REMIXED extension study presentation will provide additional information on the long-term efficacy and safety profile of remibrutinib in patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria.

Additional scientific presentations will explore biomarker analyses assessing whether remibrutinib-induced changes in B-cell biomarkers are associated with complete and sustained responses in CSU patients.

Beyond urticaria, Novartis will also present Phase II findings evaluating remibrutinib in adults with IgE-mediated peanut allergy. Scheduled presentations include efficacy and safety analyses as well as a dose-response assessment examining oral food challenge outcomes.

The congress program will further feature data from REASSERT, a global prospective non-interventional study designed to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and quality-of-life outcomes associated with remibrutinib treatment in chronic spontaneous urticaria.

Several real-world evidence studies focused on disease burden and treatment experiences are also scheduled for presentation. These include physician-reported and patient-reported findings from the Urticaria Voices initiative in China, analyses from the CURE Registry examining treatment-escalation challenges in chronic spontaneous urticaria, and research evaluating the impact of implementing a urticaria care package within general practice settings.

Angelika Jahreis, Global Head of Immunology Development at Novartis, said the EAACI presentations are intended to expand understanding of BTK inhibition across multiple immune-mediated diseases and further evaluate the potential role of remibrutinib in conditions where patients continue to experience substantial disease burden and limited treatment options.

Of the 10 accepted abstracts, two will be delivered as late-breaking oral presentations, three as flash talks, four as thematic poster presentations, and one as a prospective real-world evidence study presentation.

Quick FAQs

1. What Is Rhapsido (Remibrutinib)?

Rhapsido® (remibrutinib) is an investigational Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor being studied for multiple immune-mediated diseases, including chronic urticaria and food allergies.

2. What Did Novartis Announce?

Novartis announced that it will present 10 abstracts at EAACI Congress 2026, including late-breaking oral presentations, flash talks, thematic posters, and real-world evidence studies involving remibrutinib.

3. What Are The RemIND And REMIXED Studies?

RemIND is a Phase III study evaluating remibrutinib in chronic inducible urticaria, while REMIXED is a Phase IIIb extension study assessing long-term efficacy and safety in chronic spontaneous urticaria.

4. What Is Chronic Urticaria?

Chronic urticaria is a condition characterized by recurrent hives, itching, swelling, or related symptoms lasting six weeks or longer. It includes chronic spontaneous urticaria and chronic inducible urticaria.

5. What Data Are Scheduled For Presentation?

The congress presentations are expected to include Phase III and Phase IIIb remibrutinib data in chronic urticaria, biomarker analyses, Phase II food allergy findings, and multiple real-world evidence studies evaluating patient burden, treatment experiences, effectiveness, safety, and quality of life.
