FDA Alerts: Junebar Recall, Allergy Alert for Undeclared Milk and Soy

#Allergy

By VETTAPHARMA reporter: he U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has posted an updated safety alert after Juniper Granola, LLC announced a recall and allergy alert for its Junebar snack bars due to the presence of undeclared milk and soy allergens.

The recall affects two flavors: Chocolate Cherry and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Junebars marked with batch codes L1300, L1300A, L1300B, and L1301A. These bars were distributed throughout New York State during January 2026, both in grocery retailers and through direct website shipments.

According to the company announcement, the presence of milk and soy — not listed on the labels — poses a serious or life-threatening risk to individuals with allergies or severe sensitivities to these ingredients. The undeclared allergens were discovered after one consumer reported an allergic reaction to milk, prompting an immediate investigation.

Juniper Granola officials determined that the error stemmed from an oversight in the sourcing process, which led to a box of non-vegan chocolate chips (containing milk and soy) being included in production. Typically, Junebars uses dairy-free and soy-free chips in their bars. The recall was initiated as soon as the issue was identified.

Consumers who purchased the impacted Junebars are urged to return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. For additional questions, the company has made contact information available to the public.
